The Polka Dot House began with a simple intention: to make space for creativity to unfold in community.

Founded by Kelly Carambula, this space reflects a foundational belief that art helps—it shows us that we can be messy, joyful, layered, and open to all. We offer an environment where experimentation is welcomed, and where artmaking becomes a way to connect to yourself and others.

hi!

Welcome to the Polka Dot House! First and foremost, this is the home of Kelly Carámbula Studio and Gallery—I make art here. And sometimes I open up the Gallery and show it to people (I’m working on more consistent hours). Honestly, I still can’t believe that it’s real—I get to do the thing I love in a place I love.

After owning the space for a few months, I realized that this is bigger than just myself. People stopped by and told me how much they loved the polka dots! So I created the Polka Dot House to share the joy that this place brings me with others who have the love but not the place.

Beginning in the summer of 2025, we will be hosting coffee pop-ups on the weekends, along with selling flowers, supporting various creative endeavors, and other surprises, all from local makers and artisans. In addition, we’ll have a few classes, concerts, and lots of chill time for friends old and new to just hang out.

I’m so glad you stopped by!

What’s more delightful than being knocked out of your routine by seeing a house with polka dots?

FAQs

Why polka dots?

1/ I love them—although I’m a bit picky about them too. Ask me sometime and I’ll get nerdy about it.

2/ I was inspired by “The Book of Delights” by Ross Gay, which encourages us to seek out small moments of delight each day. I’ve practiced this for many years and it inspires me as an artist.

How’d you get them on the building?

With a ladder, a bucket of paint, and a stencil. Don’t worry, I had someone with me in case things got wobbly.
